Power Song Tribe™ SWAG
Hand-Painted Silk from the Founders of Power Song Tribe™
Virginia-based creative couple Dave and Sandra Goodrich share many artistic interests. Although their lives mostly revolve around the music world, the pair also spend time in the world of visual arts…and every so often they produce a new line of luxurious hand-painted silks.
Their latest collection of wearable silk art—Power Song Tribe™ SWAG—is named in honor of the empowerment through song company they co-founded.
Preferring a more organic approach to painting silk, they aim for abstract designs and rich colors that are reminiscent of nature and the cosmos. Using opulent French dyes and sumptuous silks, they employ a mélange of painting techniques to create multi-faceted, layered designs that offer a luxe and empowering experience for the wearer.
Their silk scarves have been sold in fine boutiques, galleries, and salons. A handful of Dave’s silk scarves were featured in a fur and lingerie fashion show at an upscale salon, and a portion of Sandra’s silk painting Timeless Dream appears on the cover of Dave’s first solo album 15 Minutes.
Sandra has also provided silk creations to aid uplifting causes. In support of the MusiCares Foundation, her silk wall hanging Poppies was displayed at the Willard Hotel in Washington, DC, for the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS | The Grammys) Heroes Awards for Vince Gill and Sen. Patrick Leahy. She has also provided hand-painted silk scarves for the DC-based organization Suited for Change, which offers professional clothing, coaching, and training to women seeking a path to empowerment and financial independence.
Sandra first discovered the art of silk painting in 1992 through an in-store demonstration featuring artists painting silk for high-end men’s neckties. Entranced by the medium, Sandra pursued the labor-intensive, multi-step process of silk painting through self-study. After meeting Dave in 1997, she then shared her silk-painting knowledge with him, which led to the production and marketing of their first line of silk scarves together. Since then, silk painting has remained a collaborative effort between the two of them.
